Bar stools are a whole new aspect of seating. By their very nature they add height to a space and, as they are often quite architectural, they add a strong design feature to the space as well.

As an additional style of seating, bar stools and their use have now gone far beyond the pub or club. Bar stools are now frequently used at home, for kitchen counters, breakfast bars and kitchen islands, in the studio or office, for high desks and poseur height tables, as well as break-out areas and canteens along with cafés, bistros, bars and restaurants.

This swatch book contains 52 designer fabrics and classic eco leather swatches and is available with a fully refundable deposit of €20. Please note: Premium fabrics incur an extra charge specific to the product.

DÉCOR GUIDE TO BAR STOOL HEIGHTS

There are two heights of fixed-height stools, counter-height and bar-height. A counter-height stool is used when the height from the floor to the underside of the counter is 90cm. This is usually the height of a kitchen island or breakfast bar. A bar-height stool is used when the height from the floor to the underside of the counter is 100cm to 110cm. This usually the height of a bar or bar-height table

DÉCOR GAS-LIFT BAR STOOLS

Perhaps the most adaptable stool is the gas-lift stool that is height-adjustable and so can be used for both bars and counters. These sturdy stools have a heavy central pedestal, for extra stability, that houses a gas piston inner mechanism to adjust the height by lever.
